(ii) Explain TWO reasons why one of the above programmes was useful to help you prepare for the development of 'NMN TV News'.  

Programme: MTV News

• This show helped me prepare for the development of NMN TV News because they have the same target audience (16-30 year olds) meaning it would be marketed and produced in a similar way in order to make it appeal to them.an example of this could be using social media.

 

•  NMN TV News is similar to MTV News which means they will be using a lot of the same production techniques such as iconography. an example of this could be Twitter quotes or images from instagram etc.

 Identify two sources of secondary information that you could use to find out information about the popularity of music tv shows are.  

• BARB 

•  Social Media posts for other music TV channels (hits on YouTube or likes on Instagram etc)

(c) 

Pick one technical convention of music television programmes and justify why you would need to plan to use it when producing 'NMN TV News'.

One technical convention of a music television program, such as MTV News, is is editing and props. They need to add cutaways to give context to what they are talking about. They also need to plan what social media extracts they are going to use and then ensure that it is ok for them to use it in the show and give credit to avoid any copyright issues.
